EKOPEL 2K is based on a technology that allows the material to be applied not with a roller or spray gun but simply in liquid form.
The material flows from the edge of the bathtub over the walls to the bottom, leveling itself due to its own weight. Recent advancements in chemistry enabled us to develop the unique formula of Ekopel 2K. A single treatment of a bathtub requires just over 3.5 kg of material.
Key aspects of Ekopel’s underlying technology and its difference from other known liquid application methods:
- Single-layer application. Coatings applied with rollers or spray guns require at least two layers for full coverage. Ekopel 2K only requires one layer.
- No harsh odor. Thanks to the latest chemical innovations, harmful components such as acetone or butyl acetate, which produce strong smells, have been entirely eliminated. The main components are mildly scented, undiluted active ingredients.
- No physical effort required. Traditional methods demand effort to evenly spread the coating, including reaching corners, handling edges, and more. With Ekopel 2K, the material is simply poured into the bathtub and levels itself automatically.
- Smooth coating. Achieving a smooth surface with a roller or brush requires significant care and skill, and even then, it is not always perfect. In contrast, Ekopel 2K delivers impressive results. The new coating has a thickness of about 1 mm on the walls and up to 5 mm on the bottom, filling any irregularities in the surface. Instead of brushing, you pour the coating into the bathtub. Approximately 3.5 kg of material is required for the process.
- Epoxy-based material. Ekopel 2K is a two-component product that must be mixed just before use. The epoxy base ensures strong adhesion to the old surface, creates a highly durable finish comparable to concrete, and results in a shiny new surface. This surface is white, glossy, and abrasion-resistant.
- Easily polished material. If minor scratches develop over years of use, they can be easily removed by polishing.
